10,000 Girls will be getting solar lantern from Samsung India on Womens Day

A good initiative has been taken by Samsung India with collaboration with CAF India a Non-Profit Organisation to distribute solar powered lanterns on Goverment School. The girls can now continue their study in time of power-cut. The lanterns are approved by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The lanterns comes with a 3 year warranty also. The areas which will be getting this lanterns are  Noida, Gurugram (in Delhi NCR) and Sriperumbudur (near Chennai) areas.

Talking about the initiative, Deepak Bhardwaj, vice president, Samsung India told, “At Samsung, our aim is to harness the company’s legacy of innovation to positively transform communities and create a better life for people through different initiatives. Education of the girl child is a key priority and through this initiative, we want to reach out and light up the education of 10,000 girl students. This initiative is a small step towards helping these young girls grow up and become individual role-models.”
