After Developer Preview of Nougat, Google released Developer Preview of Android O for the second time. The name isn’t decided it but it will start with ‘O’ as everyone can guess. It’s out only for Developers who wants a tit-bit of the upcoming Android O.
The main focus on Android O is to maximise the battery life of phones, so that background apps don’t kill battery for the background process.
After the full release of Android O we can decide wether Battery Life has increased or not.
The Notification system of Android O is highly modified. Now you can Snooze the notifications to show later, so they won’t pop up continuously.
One of the biggest change is that now you can group the notifications into individual categories which is called Channels.
There are lots of more features yet to be disclosed by Google.
After Battery & Notification now comes Sound:
Google is trying to improve sound quality in Android O for wireless headphones with ‘high -quality Bluetooth audio codecs’ with Sony’s LDAC codec.
A new feature is coming called Adaptive icons in which the icons will Change their look automatically according to the home screen theme. Icon packs will be more customised than before as well as Google’s Android O.
Now you can customise your Navigation Buttons as far your choice. This is the first time stock rom is trying to cope up with the custom ROMs.
Devices which got Android O developer preview are:
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 6P
- Nexus Player
- Pixel XL
- Pixel C
To try it you better download it manually & flash it. It’s time consuming to download the whole preview through OTA.
The Public beta version of Android O may come out during Google I/O on May 17th-19th.
