Airtel’s Counter to Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan; Unlimited Calls & 70GB 4G Data @ ₹399

we all Indians are well aware of the term “Achhe Din Aa Gaye”. Today we are definitely enjoying “Achhe Din”. From e-commerce to telecoms, if giant companies fight with each other, the “Aam Janta” (public) will be the top most beneficiary. While Amazon & Flipkart is fighting with each other, we are parallely observing a ‘massive’ war between Jio and other telecom operators. Now its time for Airtel to show us some magic against Jio. As expected the all new plan which is basically Airtel’s Counter to Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan can somehow heal the Airtel’s ‘loyal‘ customers’ pain.

Sanjoy Bafna, who is a well-knowned telecom blogger tweeted that, to counter Jio, Airtel is going to launch two all brand new plans. The new prepaid plan of ₹399 will offer 1GB 4G Data per day and the ₹599 plan will offer 2GB 4G Data per day. Both plan comes with 70 days of validity and unlimited calls & SMS.

Having said that, these offers are available only for those users who are using a 4G sim in a 4G enabled handset.

It is also to be noted that, Airtel has not anything about those offers officially, but when it comes to telecom related leaks in India, Sanjay Bafna is well-knowned.

Meanwhile the current story is, Jio launched Summer Surprise Offer on 31st March, but TRAI asked Jio to cancel the same. To overcome the situation Jio Launched all new Dhan Dhana Dhan Offer, which gives 1GB data and 2GB data per day at ₹309 & ₹509 respectively, along with unlimited & SMS for 84 days.

Interestingly, after Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer Airtel has complained TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) claiming that this a complete violation of TRAI’s advisory. An Airtel spokesperson said to PTI, “We are surprised to see what Jio is doing. It violates the spirit of the TRAI directive and essentially continues with a similar plan now masquerading under a different name. This is a classic example of old wine in a new bottle,”. He also added, “With a weakened financial position, companies will find it difficult to raise the capital to invest and roll out broadband networks,”.

The most important news is, Jio has also complained TRAI against Airtel claiming, they are using “unfair and deceptive” methods such as lining-up customised retention offers for subscribers willing to port out of their network. Jio has asked TRAI to take strict action against Airtel for breaking TRAI’s guidelines.

Now what TRAI will do? Only time will answer.
